What is WESU?

WESU is the nation's second oldest college radio station. Located at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, WESU is one of the few free-form stations that encourages a partnership between both students and community members. WESU broadcasts at 88.1 FM and can be heard throughout Connecticut. High and low bandwidth streams of the current broadcast can be heard on the WESU website. Extensive information on WESU, including community forums, program schedules, and station history can be found on the website as well.

What music does Wonderland feature?

In embracing the free-form ideology of WESU, Wonderland is not tied specifically to any one genre, although Psychedelic, Art, and Progressive Rock will feature heavily in most programs. By recognizing that good music is not the sole province of any one decade, the show features music from established rock pioneers as well as debuts from new artists. Comedy that tickles DJ CheshireCat's fancy may surface as well, as a little absurdity never hurt anyone, unless it was tied to a sledgehammer.

Can I make requests?

DJ CheshireCat is a paranoid control-freak with the improvisational judgment of recently deceased jazz performer who was kicked out of his band for not being able to jam and was so paralyzed with indecision over the event that his heart stopped. In order to compensate, DJ CheshireCat puts together many of the set lists ahead of time according to themes or events. Nonetheless, during live broadcasts, you can call (860) 685-7700 to make a request - if the song can be fit into the broadcast, it will be. The best way to make requests or suggestions is ahead of time by emailing DJ CheshireCat.
